Saquarema Studio
A bright space located next to the Buddha Garden. It features two beds, a private bathroom, an open-plan kitchen, and direct access to the pool
This space at Villa Azul takes its name from the city of Saquarema in Brazil, in honor of its legendary sense of joy. The SAQUAREMA STUDIO is our tribute to joy, the queen of emotions, which in the yogic tradition is considered one of the strengths of the spirit. Known as harsha, it is defined as good cheer — the ability to delight in the world around us.
One can smile even with a heavy heart, because joy, or harsha, is not the same as happiness. Joy may be easier to experience during happiness, but it is in the most difficult circumstances that cultivating joy becomes essential, as it sustains us, strengthens us, and helps us move forward.
Brazil’s famous carnivals display a vibrant joy shared by crowds. But joy can also be found in solitude and sadness. How? By observing carefully to discover the invisible oceans of joy that surround our world and allowing ourselves to be carried by them. Ultimately, joy is the simple and profound celebration of being alive for another day; to feel joy, it is enough simply to be alive and grateful.
