    Location – The island

Nothing but Beauty, Nothing but Bliss

BEAUTY HAS THE DIVINE POWER TO UPLIFT OUR MOD AND SPIRIT

The beauty of nature has the wonderful ability to calm our mind, freeing it from cluttered thoughts and leaving us speechless. The connection between what we see and what we feel is an undeniable reminder of our natural connection to the world. Exploring a dreamy environment like that of Fuerteventura enhances our mental and emotional well-being while reinforcing the touching idea that we are part of a larger and more beautiful world. On our precious island, it becomes difficult to feel discontent with life when it reveals its charm and splendor; whether under the starry sky on a warm night or in front of an endless turquoise ocean. We invite you to experience the blessing of sitting quietly and watching the island sunset, feeling joyful and at peace, immersed in the universe of beauty that surrounds us.

Discover the Best of Fuerteventura During Your Stay

LET US HELP YOU DISCOVER THE WONDERS OF FUERTEVENTURA; WE LOOK FORWARD TO SHARING OUR LOVE FOR THE ISLAND WITH YOU

Fuerteventura is an island blessed with the gift of beauty, renowned for its endless golden-sand beaches—over 150 in total—stretching along 340 kilometers of coastline. Walking along these soft, warm, and finely textured shores offers an exceptional experience of calm, serenity, and connection with nature.

Few people realize that light-colored beaches are a true rarity on volcanic islands, where the sand is usually dark, almost black, formed by the natural breakdown of lava. In Fuerteventura, however, the golden sands are of organic origin, created from shells and coral fragments carried by the sea and shaped by the wind, resulting in a unique and magical landscape that makes the island so extraordinary.

    COFETE BEACH

Completely virgin, wild and mysterious, Cofete Beach, also known as Windward Beach, is surely the most spectacular beach on the island of Fuerteventura. Located on the Jandía peninsula, the beach courageously offers its beautiful face to the winds, to the sun and to the force of the indomitable Atlantic Ocean. In the background, the imposing mountains of the Jandía National Park rise like titans. Visiting Cofete Beach is an experience for those who seek to shudder before the greatness of the natural world. Its wide and empty landscape, unaltered for millions of years, reminds us that the trails of space and time are immense; makes us feel like shipwrecks of destiny. Walking along its 12 kilometers of golden sand is like going back through the corridors of time.

    THE ISLAND OF LOBOS

Located between Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, the small Island of Lobos owes its name to the sea lions that made it their home not long ago (in Spanish they are called lobos de mar, sea wolfs). This tiny volcanic gem of the ocean, just over 6 square kilometers, is a natural reserve dotted with marshes, coves and natural pools that sparkle like jewels in the water. Get to know it when you visit us and immerse yourself in the magic of its vibrant colors: the intense green of its waters in intense contrast with the black of the volcanic rock and the ocher-colored trails.

The island is accessed by ferry in a 15-minute journey from the port of Corralejo, just 13 minutes by car from our enclave in Villaverde. The maritime area between Lobos and Corralejo is a submarine reserve and excursions to the island therefore have limited capacity. We will be happy to guide you on how to organize your visit, provide information about ferry schedules, boarding points, and where to book excursions or diving activities, so you can easily discover this idyllic place on a day trip.

    THE RAVINE OF THE ENCHANTED

The Ravine of the Enchanted, also known as The Ravine of Lovers, is one of the most romantic and inaccessible places on the island. Years ago, when the world was younger and more innocent, it was a chosen spot for island teenagers to have their first conversations alone, hidden from the gaze and control of their elders. Interspersed with ravines and shallow channels, The Ravine of the Enchanted is a small labyrinth of sand and fossilized limestone whose cavities hide sweet confidences. We will be delighted to show you this beautiful place which, due to its reddish, orange and pink hues, perfectly embodies the sweetness and innocence of first love.

    CORRALEJO DUNES

Located in the northeast of the island, the Natural Park of the Corralejo Dunes harbor the largest extension of dunes in the Canary Islands. It is a magical landscape of fine, undulating golden sand that lends the island’s waters their characteristic turquoise color. It is an amazing experience to lie down and offer yourself in the sun on this warm sand, soft and silky like honey, before immersing oneself in the most transparent waters you have ever seen. This fascinating enclave is easily accessible by walking along the coast from our facilities or directly by car by road.

    POPCORN BEACH

Rhodolites are small fossilized algae that resemble popcorn and give some of Fuerteventura’s beaches their unusual, bright white appearance. These marine algae take an eternity to form, growing at a rate of just one millimeter per year. When they die, they are carried by the sea to the shore, where they remain until water and wind erode them, transforming them into the white sand that has surrounded our island for thousands of years.

Even though it is absolutely forbidden and rhodolites have no economic value, some visitors feel strongly tempted to take at least one with them. This reveals a truth known for centuries: that our relationship with the world is often shaped by the desire to possess the things we find beautiful. In the words of the Buddha: “Satisfy the needs of life like the butterfly that sips the flower, without destroying its fragrance or texture.” It is a teaching we can practice: to enjoy beauty without claiming it, leaving the world intact as we pass through it.

    THE ARCH OF LAS PEÑITAS

The Arc of Las Peñitas is a unique rock formation naturally sculpted by wind erosion. It appears to support an invisible cathedral and under the starry mantle of the night sky, it evokes almost mystical sensations that uplift the spirit. Alongside the famous rock arch, The Ravine of Las Peñitas also houses another place dedicated to contemplation and introspection, created by human hands in this ocasion: the Hermitage of the Virgen de la Peña. All in all, the Ravine of las Peñitas is a beautiful place that is worth dedicating a day of exploration.

Walking through the ravine is not dangerous, but it requires attention and forces us to move slowly and carefully. For humans, the terrain is rugged and makes us somewhat clumsy, attracting the attentive gaze of agile friends such as lizards, birds, goats, and charming squirrels. They watch us with curious and playful expressions, aware that they are faster and more agile, which gives them the confidence to approach closely and observe us, perhaps enjoying themselves at our expense, secretly laughing at our clumsiness.

    AJUY CAVES

The small fishing village of Ajuy still retains all its authentic and traditional charm today, being a place more frequented by locals than by tourists. It will be our pleasure to introduce you to this genuine corner, so that you can enjoy the fresh fish offered by the local restaurants and, at the same time, venture into the volcanic depths of the island.

The spectacular volcanic caves of Ajuy are considered an outstanding geological wonder, declared a Natural Monument in 1987. They are composed of black lava flows and sedimentary substrates that are 150 million years old and emerge on the surface. These dark, gravid rocks, which sleep silently today, were once rivers of lava gliding across the island’s surface like liquid fire; rising into the air propelled by immeasurable forces and breaking into a thousand pieces like drops of seawater splashed by the waves. Such is the power of fire that gave rise to our beloved islands.

    VILLAVERDE MILLS

On the island of Fuerteventura, there are hundreds of windmills, and in the past, there were more than a thousand. These mills were used to draw water from wells and grind corn to produce gofio, a flour very popular in the Canary Islands. Even today, locals use gofio to make bread and enrich broths. It is also added to children’s breakfast milk to help them grow strong.

The wind has always been important in Fuerteventura. The same wind that once drew water from the rocks and transformed the hardness of the grain into the softness of bread now positions us as a recognized center in the world of surfing. It seems there’s a lesson to be learned from this, doesn’t it? Both in the past and the present, life has been and continues to be a challenge on this island of sober and austere beauty, where survival depends on making the most of everything the island offers, including the very air we breathe. A windmill spreading its sails to the wind is an inspiring metaphor for the concept of openness—an attitude that allows us to open ourselves with confidence and fully receive the gifts that life presents.

THE NATURAL POOLS OF AGUAS VERDES

The natural pools of Aguas Verdes—whose name means ‘Green Waters’ in Spanish—are a beautiful enclave of high ecological and scenic value, located on the west coast of Fuerteventura. Nestled along this rugged coastline, known for its bravery, the sea appears to agree to a temporary truce with the rocky shore, creating small havens of tranquility and warm water shielded from powerful waves. These pools appear on the coast as if by magic when the tide recedes trapping water within the cavities of the land. Due to their secluded location and lack of paved access, the pools are frequented by only a handful of visitors and teem with wildlife. If you desire, we would be delighted to introduce you to the beauty of this hidden gem of the island, where tourists are scarce but crabs, starfish, and squirrels abound.

We highly recommend a visit to Aguas Verdes as it provides a serene sanctuary for relaxation in the warm waters. Observing the endless shapes and colors of the rock formations through the water is truly mesmerizing and witnessing the sunset at this magical place is an experience that should be lived at least once in a lifetime.

    CORRALEJO

Our Yoga retreats center is situated in Villaverde, a 13-minute drive from the beautiful town of Corralejo, wichh is the second-largest tourist destination on the island, following the capital city of Puerto del Rosario. Corralejo offers an endless number of excellent restaurants serving both local and international cuisine, vibrant bars charming streets explore, as well as shops, shopping centers, a marina, and some nightclubs. Over time, Corralejo has managed to retain the essence of its origins as a beautiful, simple, and whitewashed fishing village and its old town preserves the marine atmosphere. Particularly at dusk, when the sounds of the day quiet down, the estreet illuminate, and the aroma of grilled fish blends with local wine and cheese, the town awakens with an undeniable spirit and authenticity.
