Located in the Buddha Garden, the WOODEN COTTAGE is the most intimate space at Villa Azul, set apart from the other apartments and rooms. It features a private seating area and views of the pool. The cottage includes two single beds and a private bathroom located in the main building
The WOODEN COTTAGE offers our guests a high degree of privacy, because everyone needs time and space for themselves at some point. For us, this accommodation symbolizes the importance of establishing an intimate connection with oneself. Once that connection is achieved, our perception of all other experiences changes — every moment is lived differently.
Seeking solitude is not exactly about distancing oneself from others; at least, that is not its essential purpose. Rather, it is about creating the conditions to observe and know oneself deeply, especially after intense experiences or before making important decisions.
On the path of Yoga, introspection, or samadhi, is fundamental for cultivating intimacy with oneself. Some traditions explain that samadhi is an eternal upaya, a practice that never ends, because no one can say, “I know myself completely,” or “I am finished”; we are all in constant change, and at every moment we are different, needing to observe ourselves again; we must practice samadhi continuously.

Our WOODEN HOUSE offers privacy to our guests because many times we need time and space for ourselves. Withdrawing into oneself is not exactly distancing oneself from others, at least that is not its essential purpose, but providing oneself with the conditions to carefully observe and know oneself, especially after living intense experiences or before making decisions.
In the path of yoga, recollection (recogimiento) or samadhi is vital to cultivate intimacy with oneself. Some traditions say that samadhi is the eternal upaya, the eternal approach, the approximation that cannot be concluded since the essential nature of the universe and therefore of ourselves is change. No one can say: "I already know myself completely" since at that very moment they have already changed and need to look at themselves again. The WOODEN HOUSE represents the importance of the intimate connection with oneself; the one experience that alters our perception of all other experiences. In that sense, the true renaissance.
