The QUEENSLAND STUDIO and its décor are inspired by the rich biodiversity of northeastern Australia, a vast state that combines vibrant cities with ultramodern architecture and extraordinary natural environments, such as tropical rainforests, the Great Barrier Reef, and constantly flourishing ecosystems. Queensland seems to bring together the best of both worlds: the vitality of urban life and the pristine grandeur of nature. Could this be the secret to the Australians’ renowned physical health and strength? Perhaps it is a life that embraces everything without turning away from anything — a life without lack.]

Anāmaya is a Sanskrit word usually translated as mental and spiritual health. It means “free from disease, free from imbalances, free from lack.” This last aspect is essential, because it is not always easy to recognize what we are missing to feel well. Sometimes we experience a difficult-to-name emptiness, yet its presence profoundly affects our lives.

The QUEENSLAND STUDIO invites us to reflect on that longing for wholeness and the need to integrate all dimensions of existence: the internal and external, the individual and their environment, society and family. Often, what we identify as an inner void may be connected to the happiness or unhappiness of those around us, the beauty or ugliness of our surroundings, or the absence of animal and plant life nearby.

Can we really say these things are external to us when it is clear they affect us so deeply? What is truly external, and what is truly internal? Does this division make sense if both planes are in constant communication? Perhaps this separation exists only in our minds. The great spiritual traditions converge in offering a unified answer: life is communion with the universe, and nothing that exists in the world is truly foreign to us.
