Refreshing Buddha’s Garden for the season ahead
As the warmer months approach, we've spent the last few weeks giving Buddha's Garden — our main outdoor yoga and meditation space — a well-deserved refresh. The biggest change is overhead: we've installed new shade sails across the deck, designed to soften the midday sun without blocking the gentle morning and evening light that makes this space so special for early practice and sunset sessions. We've also repotted and pruned the palms and dragon trees that frame the deck, many of which had outgrown their original containers after several seasons of growth. Behind the scenes, we upgraded the irrigation system to a drip-based setup, which uses significantly less water while keeping the surrounding planting lush through the hottest part of the Fuerteventura summer. It's a small change guests won't notice directly, but one that fits our ongoing commitment to making the villa more sustainable, season after season. Combined, these updates mean cooler mornings on the mat, greener surroundings, and a garden that will keep maturing beautifully over the coming retreats. We can't wait for you to practice here.
