The beauty of the Indonesian island of Bali, and especially the renowned kindness of its people, inspire this cozy space. The BALI ROOM is our tribute to the culture of kindness, inviting you to practice warmth and consideration toward others — and toward yourself. In this room, you can rest, reflect, meditate, and deepen your understanding of your own needs.
“Kindness may seem like a simple act, but is it really? There’s always room to be a little more…”
The CALIFORNIA ROOM is a great option for travelers on a budget. It features a double bed and a private bathroom.
The CALIFORNIA ROOM is located on the ground floor of the main building. Its window opens onto an outdoor corridor, keeping the room cool even during the warmest months. Its name and décor are inspired by the West Coast culture of the United States, known for its hospitality, relaxed atmosphere, and passion for outdoor sports. For us, the CALIFORNIA ROOM embodies human passion, always pushing the limits of our abilities and transforming every experience into an adventure.
Life, with its many challenges, invites us to face them with determination. Yet the true challenge is not only to do things as well as possible, but also to do them with passion and to fully enjoy the experience. Passion reminds us that we are free to choose the intensity and joy with which we live.
Passion, or sasrava in Sanskrit, is a central concept in Eastern spiritual traditions associated with Yoga. It is not synonymous with tension, and therefore does not imply effort or pain; on the contrary, true passion arises from surrender, becoming a deeply joyful experience.
Spiritual passion, in particular — which guides us toward inner growth and connection with the essential — is an expression of a relaxed, strong, and healthy mind and body, full of energy and vitality. For this reason, some see spiritual passion as akin to the health and strength of the spirit.

The CANARIAS APARTMENT is an ideal option for groups of four traveling together or for individuals who wish to share space and meet like-minded travelers. Due to its shared nature, this accommodation is available exclusively for women. It is decorated in the traditional and authentic Canarian style. For us, the CANARIAS APARTMENT symbolizes the importance of tradition — not only our own, but that of all cultures. Tradition gives us a sense of identity and a connection to the past. It reminds us that we are part of something greater, and that we are not mere specks of dust adrift in the winds of time.
To preserve the valuable legacy of Yoga, it is essential to respect tradition, strive to deeply understand the discipline, and refrain from making changes until the purpose of each gesture and movement is fully comprehended. Every yogi must learn to honor what is called prajna, or “wisdom painstakingly extracted from chaos.” This means recognizing, in each class, the value of the knowledge transmitted through generations via the Yoga lineage: teacher, disciple, instructor, student.
In Sanskrit, the term smriti means both tradition and memory, which is very poetic, as it suggests that the opposite of tradition is not novelty — which can eventually become a new tradition — but forgetting. In yoga class, we must appreciate what is being taught, be aware that it is ancient knowledge, and commit to not forgetting it.
Located in the Buddha Garden, the WOODEN COTTAGE is the most intimate space at Villa Azul, set apart from the other apartments and rooms. It features a private seating area and views of the pool. The cottage includes two single beds and a private bathroom located in the main building
The WOODEN COTTAGE offers our guests a high degree of privacy, because everyone needs time and space for themselves at some point. For us, this accommodation symbolizes the importance of establishing an intimate connection with oneself. Once that connection is achieved, our perception of all other experiences changes — every moment is lived differently.
Seeking solitude is not exactly about distancing oneself from others; at least, that is not its essential purpose. Rather, it is about creating the conditions to observe and know oneself deeply, especially after intense experiences or before making important decisions.
On the path of Yoga, introspection, or samadhi, is fundamental for cultivating intimacy with oneself. Some traditions explain that samadhi is an eternal upaya, a practice that never ends, because no one can say, “I know myself completely,” or “I am finished”; we are all in constant change, and at every moment we are different, needing to observe ourselves again; we must practice samadhi continuously.
One-bedroom apartment with two beds, private bathroom, living room with sofa and dining table, open-plan kitchen, and terrace with garden access.
This bright and comfortable accommodation is perfect for solo travelers, couples, or groups of friends sharing a trip. The beds can be arranged as a double bed or two singles. Its décor is inspired by the exoticism and mystery of India, the birthplace of Yoga. The LITTLE INDIA APARTMENT represents the allure of the unknown, which seduces and captivates us deeply, reminding us that it is not necessary to uncover the profound secrets of life, but rather to learn to appreciate the beauty of its mystery.
Many travel to India and return without having unraveled the secret of its seductive charm. Yet they do not return disappointed; on the contrary, they come back smiling and fascinated, because immersing ourselves in the unknown makes us more aware of the universe of beauty and mystery surrounding us.
Something similar happens in the search for oneself: there are always more mysteries than certainties. To practice Yoga, it is essential to accept immersion in the unknown, the unfathomable — guhya — that which by its nature remains hidden, for we live in a magical world whose laws and secrets exceed the capacity of our minds to comprehend.
Sraddha is a Sanskrit term with no exact translation in other languages, meaning “to put the heart into that which we do not fully understand.” It invites us to realize that it is possible to love even what we do not fully understand, or, in other words, that often there is nothing to understand at all.

The decision to create Villa Azul was born many years ago during a trip to Peru, specifically to Machu Picchu. For us, the MACHU PICCHU STUDIO evokes two spiritual concepts that, in one way or another, appear in everyone’s life at some point: maha vidya, the inner revelation that clearly shows us which path to follow, and adhittana, the firm determination to remain true to a purpose without wavering. Both concepts may seem lofty or abstract, but what would we be without them? How would we choose what to do with our lives? Or how would we bring our life projects to fruition?
The renowned city of Machu Picchu is called the “City of the Clouds” in the Sacred Valley of the Incas due to its high, remote, and inhospitable location in the Andes Mountains. Because of its difficult access, this religious, urban, and agricultural center was never conquered, not even by the Spanish.
After the fall of the Inca Empire, the city was abandoned and forgotten, remaining hidden under vegetation for more than three centuries until its rediscovery in the 20th century, which astonished explorers and historians. How could something so vast have remained invisible to the eyes of the world?
In a way, this story serves as a metaphor: most of the time, what is revealed to us in a moment of inspiration — what in the yogic tradition is called Maha Vidya, the inner revelation — is not something new, but something that has always been there. It is the memory of who we have always wanted to be, what comes naturally to us, and what gives meaning to our lives. Surprisingly, these essential truths are often buried beneath thoughts, fears, and worries that grow like weeds, hiding the truest parts of ourselves.

The QUEENSLAND STUDIO and its décor are inspired by the rich biodiversity of northeastern Australia, a vast state that combines vibrant cities with ultramodern architecture and extraordinary natural environments, such as tropical rainforests, the Great Barrier Reef, and constantly flourishing ecosystems. Queensland seems to bring together the best of both worlds: the vitality of urban life and the pristine grandeur of nature. Could this be the secret to the Australians’ renowned physical health and strength? Perhaps it is a life that embraces everything without turning away from anything — a life without lack.]
Anāmaya is a Sanskrit word usually translated as mental and spiritual health. It means “free from disease, free from imbalances, free from lack.” This last aspect is essential, because it is not always easy to recognize what we are missing to feel well. Sometimes we experience a difficult-to-name emptiness, yet its presence profoundly affects our lives.
The QUEENSLAND STUDIO invites us to reflect on that longing for wholeness and the need to integrate all dimensions of existence: the internal and external, the individual and their environment, society and family. Often, what we identify as an inner void may be connected to the happiness or unhappiness of those around us, the beauty or ugliness of our surroundings, or the absence of animal and plant life nearby.
Can we really say these things are external to us when it is clear they affect us so deeply? What is truly external, and what is truly internal? Does this division make sense if both planes are in constant communication? Perhaps this separation exists only in our minds. The great spiritual traditions converge in offering a unified answer: life is communion with the universe, and nothing that exists in the world is truly foreign to us.
A spacious, sunlit room for two with a double bed, private bathroom, and coastal views.
The décor of the SANTA FE ROOM is inspired by the city of the same name, the capital of New Mexico and a hub of rich artistic and cultural tradition. This region — like much of the American Southwest — is characterized by a landscape with a unique energy: the desert, one of the most beautiful on the planet in our view. At first glance, it may seem barren and inhospitable, yet it is home to dozens of species of animals, flowers, and insects, reminding us that life always finds a way to prevail, no matter the challenges. The Santa Fe Room celebrates this purity and vital strength that make survival, growth, and flourishing possible even under the most extreme conditions.
“The desert has played an important role in many spiritual traditions and in the individual awakening of countless people…”

This space at Villa Azul takes its name from the city of Saquarema in Brazil, in honor of its legendary sense of joy. The SAQUAREMA STUDIO is our tribute to joy, the queen of emotions, which in the yogic tradition is considered one of the strengths of the spirit. Known as harsha, it is defined as good cheer — the ability to delight in the world around us.
One can smile even with a heavy heart, because joy, or harsha, is not the same as happiness. Joy may be easier to experience during happiness, but it is in the most difficult circumstances that cultivating joy becomes essential, as it sustains us, strengthens us, and helps us move forward.
Brazil’s famous carnivals display a vibrant joy shared by crowds. But joy can also be found in solitude and sadness. How? By observing carefully to discover the invisible oceans of joy that surround our world and allowing ourselves to be carried by them. Ultimately, joy is the simple and profound celebration of being alive for another day; to feel joy, it is enough simply to be alive and grateful.
